Description

Description

This tecnhical cooperation (TC) aims to promote sustainable urban development in Mexico and Brazil by advancing land-use planning strategies aligned with mobility. The TC will support the design and early-stage implementation of approaches such as sustainable TOD and integrated urban development frameworks that foster equitable access to daily services. By strengthening coordination among spatial planning, public transport systems, and land-use regulation, the initiative will help develop compact, mixed-use, and well-connected urban environments. Through integrated planning tools that combine land management, urban mobility, and climate resilience considerations, the TC seeks to improve land-use efficiency, enhance accessibility, and support the creation of livable and resilient neighborhoods. The TC will produce technical guidelines, a pre-feasibility studies, and knowledge-sharing activities to inform policy design and investment decision-making at national and sub-national levels . Grounded in a comprehensive sectoral diagnosis, the initiative will promote holistic land management solutions that integrate mobility, housing, and mixed-use development, habitat and public space development, in support of inclusive and economically sustainable urban growth.
