Description | The Stratos project is the largest data center campus in the world, covering roughly 60 square miles in Hansel Valley, northern Utah. It will consume 9 gigawatts of electrical power at full buildout, more than twice the current total electricity consumption of the state of Utah. The first phase has a capacity of 3 gigawatts. The data center will be powered 100% by natural gas generated on-site via the Ruby Pipeline and will not draw power from the existing Utah power grid. The project is expected to create 2,000 permanent jobs and 10,000 construction positions, with a total investment exceeding $1 billion in initial phases and over $100 billion at full buildout. |
