Description

Description

The Stratos Project is a massive-scale AI data center planned to be used for national security. It is described as a major energy and technology infrastructure initiative designed to strengthen military readiness, national security, and Utah's long-term economic competitiveness. The campus is planned to be about 40,000 acres in size and will be built in phases. It aims to support military readiness, generate revenues for infrastructure projects at Hill Air Force Base and the Utah National Guard, create thousands of construction jobs, and about 2,000 permanent positions across energy, technology, and operations sectors. The project will be self-sufficient with on-site energy generation, use a closed-loop cooling system to reduce water usage, and is designed to coexist with agricultural land uses through leaseback agreements and conservation buffers.
