Description
Description | The Military Installation Development Authority's (MIDA) Stratos Project is a massive AI data center to be constructed in a rural area near US-84 in Box Elder County, Utah. The project area covers roughly 40,000 acres split into three sites. It will use a closed-loop water cooling system with existing water rights on-site and generate up to 9 gigawatts of power initially, with a 15 gigawatt multi-site strategy. The project aims to avoid strain on the public power grid by using on-site energy production, primarily natural gas from the Ruby Pipeline, with plans to switch to nuclear energy as it becomes available in Utah. |
