The goal of the project is to help make groups of rural micro, small andmedium-sized producers in Colombia more competitive. The purpose isto implement a sustainable marketing model for 10 groups ofagroindustrial producers of alternative development products. Theproject combines the alternative development strategy with aninternationalization mechanism for rural producers that has provensuccessful in a current MIF project in Uruguay. There are fivecomponents: (i) strengthening of 10 groups of agroindustrial producerswith trade potential; (ii) technical assistance to match supply todemand; (iii) Bogota logistics and trade platform; (iv) internationalmarketing unit; and (v) dissemination of the model and outcomes.
