Description
Description | In an effort to reverse the shrinking civic space in Greece, GROW aims to create an enhanced supportive environment for Greek CSOs, active at local, regional and/or national level, including grassroot organizations at rural level, through a) the provision of financial support for their actions to protect and promote EU values and rights, b) the availability of high-quality capacity building tailored to their needs, and c) networking with key stakeholders and synergies with other CSOs at national and EU level. GROW will support CSOs working particularly in the protection and promotion of the EU right to education, right to social assistance and work, fighting poverty and exclusion, and the right to vote and stand as candidate in elections, with a focus on youth democratic participation, responding to current national challenges for which CSOs are underfunded. The expected impact is: 1. At least 50 CSOs, with emphasis on those in rural areas (90% of available funding), strenthened their financial resilience through direct financial support and their sustainability through the adoption of effective and accountable practices and policies related to governance and programmes design. 2. 50 CSOs and approx. 80 representatives of them strenthened their capacities on Fundraising, Programme Design, Financial management, Monitoring & Reporting, Communication, Governance, Safeguarding of vulnerable groups and child protection, and Gender mainstreaming. 3. 200 representatives of CSOs around Greece enhanced their knowledge on fundraising proposal preparation stage. 4. Thanks to third parties’ projects implementation, 800 beneficiaries (vulnerable groups of people) supported through targeted services, 300 professionals/stakeholders informed/trained, 50 institutions involved in projects, 2500 people of the general public engaged in activities /events raising their awareness about the EU rights and values addressed by the project, of whom 750 young people. |
