Description
Description | Recent climate disasters underline the urgency of including women and girls in the EU policymaking. The project objectives are to: 1- Elevate the voices of diverse EU citizens to encourage their participation in democratic processes, emphasising their experiences in terms of climate and environment 2- Facilitate collaboration between national Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) from six partner countries, enabling them to convey women’s messages and propose inclusive solutions to decision-makers 3- Provide decision-makers with comprehensive information and data to shape effective, gender-responsive climate policies 4- Amplify the voices of local women across the EU, particularly those facing various intersecting forms of discrimination 5- Increase the awareness of citizens and the press through the dissemination of the final policy recommendations Partners from six countries across different EU regions will host and coordinate national events encouraging exchanges between various stakeholders, including national CSOs focused on women’s rights, those focused on environmental sustainability, EU-wide organisations with specific expertise, women with intersecting identities, national and EU policy-makers and the general public. A kick-off EU workshop will assess the expertise of the EWL’s members. As a concluding event, a final conference will enable the dissemination of final policy recommendations based on the outputs from the national events. Project activities are designed to facilitate the exchange of expertise among partners, while the project methodology incentivises their cooperative work (collaboration in the different WPs, participation in the same learning opportunities). Considering the large partnership and its sustainable results compiled in final policy recommendations, partners will work on a sound dissemination plan and effective exploitation strategy to reach the highest number of civil society organisations and policymakers to maximise their impact. |
