planned

A five-year national project launched by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) to integrate biodiversity protection into village development plans by strengthening local bodies and involving communities in conservation. The project adopts a landscape-based conservation model focusing on Sathyamangalam Landscape in Tamil Nadu and Garo Hills Landscape in Meghalaya, and promotes decentralized environmental governance structures, integration of biodiversity into Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), innovative financing mechanisms, and capacity building with a focus on inclusion.
