Strengthening Law, Regulation, and the Legal Profession for a Better Investment Climate

This capacity development technical assistance (TA) is designed to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for commerce and private sector investment by (i) providing assistance for the drafting, advocacy and finalization of updated, modernized commercial laws, to complement the reforms being carried out under the current company law reform supported under an ADB technical assistance; (ii) improving the skills and knowledge of government staff in the implementation of the updated commercial laws; and (iii) providing assistance for a capacity building training program to improve the skills and knowledge of legal practitioners in various areas of commercial law, which will in turn facilitate increased levels of investments and commercial activities in Myanmar's private sector.
