Description

Description

The project Strengthening mother-child nutrition and health in times of drought in Somalia aims to cushion the effects of drought and high food prices through social security and to improve food security and the health situation of (pregnant) women and young children. Regular and reliable transfer payments mean that the beneficiary women have an increased income in the early stages of their child's development. Furthermore, by promoting appropriate infant/young child nutrition and health, awareness-raising measures for nutrition-related behavioral changes and services at health centers are strengthened. Last but not least, the project strengthens the development of the national social security system in terms of program development and coordination of the implementation of social transfer payments.
