The project will provide the Client with the necessary tools and knowhow to help municipalities strengthen their project management and investment practices. The Client will take a leading role with more ownership throughout the process, taking responsibility of the procurement of consultants, monitoring of activities and interaction with municipalities. IFC will work collaboratively with the Client to plan, monitor, and assess results. The project will support local governments through three components: (1) Support directed to the Client in the management and coordination of the implementation of IFC Tools; (2) Work with Municipalities, consisting on the implementation of three best practices: capacity building for investment, multi-year programming, and formulation of strategic projects. Throughout the project, municipalities will be assisted on how to identify and prioritize public investments that bring the most benefits for the community; and (3) Compilation of project and reference material for future support to other municipalities by the Client, without IFC assistance.
