Description
Description | The aim of the project is to contribute to strengthening the resilience of health facilities and the population in the project area with regard to health risks. To this end, measures to stabilize and improve access to and quality of public health facilities, probably district and general hospitals, will be financed. On the other hand, community mobilization activities will be carried out in all project locations with the participation of representatives of vulnerable population groups, with the aim of adequately addressing the key needs of vulnerable groups and increasing use by vulnerable population groups. The project will be implemented in a complementary manner to other German development cooperation approaches in the health sector in Yemen. It represents an important addition to the demand-side FC voucher project for reproductive health and helps to address priority rehabilitation and equipment needs that have so far only been able to be covered to a limited extent within the framework of the FC and TC projects. As part of an increase, measures to prepare health facilities for the treatment of COVID-19 patients are expected to be integrated into the project from mid-2020. The duration is 33 months starting at the end of 2019. The project is financed from the title of transitional aid. Transitional aid funds amounting to EUR 20 million are being made available for this purpose. The project also includes a stock check amounting to EUR 10 million. |
