Strengthening Senegal’s Fiscal Sustainability Program

The operation aims to strengthen Senegal’s fiscal sustainability through improved debt sustainability, robust public financial management, and increased domestic resource mobilization. It will focus on three main results areas: (i) RA 1: Strengthen Public Financial Management. This results area supports greater efficiency, accountability, and transparency in PFM, with a view towards creating fiscal space to fund service delivery and respond to economic and climate-shocks, without impacting Senegal’s debt sustainability. (ii) RA 2: Improve Public Debt Sustainability. This area supports enhanced debt sustainability, transparency, and implementation of policy reforms envisaged under the upcoming RESET DPF series with a view to reducing the stock of the public debt.(iii) RA 3: Increase Domestic Resource Mobilization. This results area supports enhanced and transparent DRM, aiming at increasing revenue mobilization to create fiscal space to fund service delivery and respond to shocks.
