Strengthening Social Sciences in Economics and EU Politics: A Pathway to Evidence-Based Policy and EU Integration

"The proposed project aims to enhance the knowledge and awareness of first-year Bachelor students in Administration and Social Policy about EU politics, governance, and economic integration. The revision of the ""Introduction to Economics"" module is essential to strengthen students' understanding of EU social policy and foster awareness of its framework's importance in Albania. The main goal of this project is to deepen students' comprehension of the relationship between economic policies and the EU's political and governance structures, emphasizing the role of social policy within this context. The project focuses on some important objective, which are strengthening Faculty Capacities, by updating the course content to provide insights into EU economic policies and their effects on households, businesses, and institutions; Promoting awareness of European Integration by engaging students and civil society through activities like open lectures, spring school, EU data workshops and film series to foster broader discussion on EU integration; Encouraging European values in policymaking by familiarizing students with democracy, human rights and sustainable development, and; Enhancing collaboration between academia and society by bridging the gap between research and practical needs by integrating workshopsconferences, and scientific research into public discourse. A dedicated website will disseminate materials and foster public engagement, while additional activities such as workshops, EU data analytics sessions, and an EU film series will promote interdisciplinary research. By fostering dialogue between academia, civil society, and government, it aims to strengthen EU-related social and administrative policies, supporting Albania’s integration into the EU while promoting core European values."
