Description

Description

Climate change is attributed to increasing levels of green-house gas emission from agricultural, industry and transport operations. Rising temperatures, the occurrence of droughts, and extreme weather events exacerbate food security, health conditions and poverty across the globe. The woodland that would sequestrate these emissions is rapidly disappearing through deforestation. Therefore, it crucial to build capacity for developing low emission technologies and complementary sequestration in new universities that have low access to resources, understaffing, and limited global connectivity to address the complexities of climate-resilient agriculture research and green energy solutions. This proposed Action is to 1) adjust the HEIs academic programs to support training and research that address climate change energy crisis, 2) enhance delivery of training and research in climate change resilience and green energy solutions to farming and associated industries, 3) promote strong collaboration 4) Enhance inclusiveness in accessing climate change resilience and green energy solutions in HEIs. This proposed Action would be implemented by a consortium of one private University, and a recently established public university, two European Partner universities, and an Education Agency, an NGO engaged in facilitating access to Education for minority and vulnerable groups and in joint efforts to foster agricultural transformation in Africa.
