Description | The Strengthening the Capacity of Regional Financial Institutions in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) Region Project of Africa has the objective to strengthen the capacity of selected CEMAC regional financial institutions to implement their mandates in the areas of financial stability, inclusion and integrity. This project is comprised of four objectives. (1) Strengthening the capacity of Bank of Central African States (BEAC) and Central African Banking Supervision Agency (COBAC) to implement their financial stability mandate which will help strengthen its capacity to conduct risk analysis by developing a tool that will help simulate and assess the impacts of different types of macroeconomic shocks on the financial stability of the region and its member states. (2) Strengthen the Capacity of BEAC and COBAC to implement their financial inclusion mandate which will help to improve the payment systems infrastructure, regulatory framework and oversight. (3) Strengthening capacity of Task Force against Money Laundering in Central Africa (GABAC) to implement its financial integrity mandate which will allow GABAC to maintain its full membership to the Financial Action Task Force and improve the understanding of Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism risks and mitigation techniques. (4) Supporting selected reforms through results based financing which will finance the implementation of selected reforms through results based financing. |
