Description

Description

"The project Strengthening the capacity of young people on media literacy in Croatia and Slovenia of the applicants of the Public Institution of makarska development agency MARA and partners of the Municipality of Radenci aims to raise the awareness of young people in Croatia and Slovenia about the consequences caused by disinformation and fake news and to educate and inform them about ways to combat EU against disinformation and fake news. The topics the project will address relate to the impact of fake news on young people, as well as the recognition of fake news, its impact on citizens, institutions, citizens' trust in them, the way fake news influences Euroscepticism, and how the EU faces global challenges. The project aims to highlight the importance of properly informing in the globalised world of ""flying information"" among young people and the growth of their exposure to social networks – as just one of the many platforms spreading fake news. The project aims to inform, educate, educate and encourage young people from Makarska, Croatia and Radenac, Slovenia, to think critically about issues and challenges related to fake news. Fake news can have a significant impact on public opinion and thus have a negative impact on the rule of democracy and law. They cause an even more negative impact of fake news in young people, and therefore in the context of the project it is important to inform young people how to identify, but also to deconstruct false information. A special focus is on educating young people about the flow of consistent information among their population.Raising public awareness is key to increasing social resilience to the threats posed by fake news, which requires a better understanding of the sources of disinformation and intentions, tools and objectives behind disinformation, as well as our own vulnerabilities."
