Strengthening Urban Eco-Resilience in Chake-Chake and Mkoani

planned

This project aims to promote inclusive and sustainable growth in Chake Chake and Mkoani areas, South Pemba, by increasing climate urban resilience and access to basic services, socio-economic opportunities, and decision making, especially for women and youth in urban poor communities. It includes building and equipping a solid waste collection, separation, and treatment center and organizing/strengthening waste pickers groups. The project also involves conducting a valorization study for the organic fraction of municipal solid waste to analyze cost-effective waste management systems and develop viable business models for organic waste recycling.
