Strengthening Water Sector Monitoring and Evaluation

Strengthening Water Sector Monitoring and Evaluation project was initiated following the recognition by the government of Malawi that information and knowledge systems and monitoring and evaluation systems were inadequate in the country and most of the time neglected. The projet is aimed at ensuring that an efficient and effective system for monitoring and evaluation of the water sector is established to provide reliable and timely data and information needed for planning and management across the country. It costs is EUR 2.2 million with AWF contributing EUR 1.9 million and Government of Malawi contributions of EUR 0.3 million in staff time. The differents components of the project are: (i) Planning, (i) Water Resources; (iii) Water Supply Services, (iv) Sanitation, (v) Irrigation.
