INHOPE – the International Association of Internet hotlines is the global network combating online child sexual abuse material (CSAM). As of April 2024, the network consists of 54 hotlines in 50 countries that provide the public with an anonymous way to report illegal content online focusing specifically on CSAM. In 2025, INHOPE will contribute to the European Union’s objective to prevent and fight against child sexual abuse with the Stronger Together operating grant by further building the capacity of hotlines through organising peer-to-peer exchanges, establishing new best practice guidelines and updating online training modules. INHOPE will also focus on raising awareness among public to report CSAM online by organising targeted campaigning. With these activities, INHOPE will ensure that the increasing number of CSAM available online is rapidly removed thereby preventing revictimization and contributing to the identification and safeguarding of sexual abuse victims within the EU and beyond. Also, through raising awareness and allowing public reporting, INHOPE is empowering EU citizens who have encountered suspicious material online and wish to report it, as well as victims whose abuse is spread online.
