Stronger.Together - the magic of macro-regions 2025

European House (EH) is a civil society organisation from an EU battlefield country. It was established 34 years ago and as a result its manifold activities it has a well-established pro-European approach and reputation both on national and European levels. EH carries out activities with its network/contact points in 24 EU Member States. Macro-regional strategies are a relatively new policy-making field of the EU with non-integrated participation of CSOs. The ’Stronger.Together – The magic of EU macro-regions 2025’ programme of the EH is based on its broad Europe-level contacts and aims to • reveal and build on the still hidden potential of macro-regions for CSOs • bring under one roof CSOs from the 4 macro-regions (the Baltic Sea, the Danube, the Adriatic-Ionian and the Alpine) and promote citizen engagement to shape and implement EU policies in a specific field • raise awareness of citizens especially young people towards the European project using a bottom-up approach The 2025 EH programme objectives are achieved by 1. a well-functioning CSO network present in all the EU Member States of the 4 macro-regions with an annual forum (agora) and the First Macro-Regional Annual Lecture with 4 preparatory events leading to it 2. a capacity building and training session on civil participation 3. a Europe Day campaign on shared EU values 4. follow-up to the work of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFE) 5. establishing a database of best practices in the macro-regions 6. securing a permanent civil presence in Brussels A broad range of conventional and new innovative information tools assist the attainment of EH programme objectives in 2025. The notion of gender equality and non-discrimination is strictly applied throughout the programme.
