Description
Description | The Strontian Solar Farm is a proposed solar-battery hybrid project near Narrandera in south-west NSW, Australia. It combines 370 MW of solar power with a 335 MW/670 MWh battery storage system. The project will be built on approximately 670 hectares, installing around 654,000 solar panels on land currently used for cropping, which will continue to be used for grazing sheep after installation. The solar panels will be mounted on trackers up to 2.8 meters high. The project site includes an existing 330kV transmission line, requiring only an on-site electric substation and connection. Grupo Cobra's Zero-E division expects the project to operate for about 30 years, with construction lasting 18 to 24 months, creating up to 200 jobs during peak construction and 4 to 5 jobs during operation. |
