Description
Description | "The ""Students' Voice in the Parliament"" project aims to enhance democratic participation and active citizenship among young people across Western Balkan countries by creating structured opportunities for students to engage directly with democratic institutions, especially local parliaments. Rooted in the values of the European Union and the objectives of the CERV programme, the project responds to the growing need to counter civic disengagement, political apathy, and misinformation among youth. It fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility in democratic life by equipping students with practical knowledge of political processes and encouraging their meaningful participation in public discourse. Objectives: To increase awareness of democratic institutions, processes, and rights among students aged 18–25. To foster active participation in civic and democratic life through interactive methods, such as simulations of parliamentary debates, youth parliaments, and policy proposal development. To promote dialogue between young citizens and elected representatives at governance levels. To support inclusion, ensuring participation of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented communities. To develop critical thinking, media literacy, and civic responsibility as tools for countering disinformation and political disengagement. Key Activities: 1. Civic Education Workshops, 2. Youth Parliament Simulations, 3. Dialogue Sessions with Policymakers, 4. Transnational Exchange Visits." |
