Study to deploy new submarine cables in Canary Islands

The project will prepare the deployment of new submarine cables in some of the islands of the Canary Islands such as La Palma, Tenerife, La Gomera, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where availability of telecommunications submarine cables is limited to only one telecom operator. The studies cover all the related works such as marine ground surveys, environmental impact studies of the shore end location candidates, surveys for terrestrial extension from BMH(Beach Manhole) to CLS (Cable Landing Station), etc. These studies are the initial phase of a larger project that will provide a new submarine cable ring between Gran Canaria, Lanzarote y Fuerteventura. Additionally, this project will implement the technical feasibility studies for the installation of another submarine cable to interconnect the islands of La Palma and La Gomera with Tenerife.
