Description

Description	The Stung Tatay Hydropower project is a 246 MW plant in the Thman Baing district, Koh Kong province, Cambodia. The project was to be built and operated by the China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), which was granted 42 year Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract by the national government. The contract period included 5 years of construction and 37 years of operation. The base power sales tariff was set a US$ 0.0745/kWh. All generated power will be sold to EDC (Electricite du Cambodge). The project costs were US$ 540 million. Funding support was provided by the Chinese government. Construction started in April 2010 and was expected to finish in 2015. The project applied for UNFCCC/CDM financing.
