Suas Cable Car Project

The 'Suas' cable car project is a proposed entertainment attraction in Dublin, intended to travel above the River Liffey. The project involves constructing four river-spanning towers, two approximately 80 metres tall and two around 60 metres tall, with terminals near the 3Arena in the docklands and a park close to Heuston Station. It aims to offer tourists an interactive way to see the city from above and connect them to various attractions. The project was first proposed in 2006 but stalled due to issues with securing permission to use public land for support towers and was refused Strategic Infrastructure status in 2007. Preparatory work has included around €1.5 million spent on design and studies by specialist engineers. The developer is prepared to submit a formal planning application and hopes to advance the process for public consultation.
