Submarine is an award-winning, independent production company, encompassing development, production and financing for audiences around the world. We produce meaningful stories with true international appeal, with the most talented European filmmakers; we believe that we, as storytellers, can help define society in a positive way and strive to be green and inclusive. Our experience in financing international coproductions with global streamers, broadcasters and distributors enables us to build a global studio for the 21st century. With this Slate, we will develop five independent European co-productions: a mix of tv series, films and documentaries that show Submarine?s mission to create cutting-edge, visually exciting productions for a European audience from young to old. Along with directors, co-producers and (often) a broadcasting partner, Slate enables us to develop new projects, continue our relations and give emerging makers a chance; it ensures variety and increases production volume in our company. Over the next 18-36 months, we will create pitch-doc?s, bibles and (pilot)scripts that trigger further (development or production) financing. We have chosen true European co-production projects that can travel internationally, make festival selections and reach worldwide audiences. This application touches on their marketing and publicity potential. Our mix of projects are: for animation; Seekers (series, co-pro with Belgium) and Spike (feature, co-pro with Spain, France & South Africa), fiction; Fortuna?s Children (drama series, Hungary & US) and hybrids; animation/fiction ADD (series, Germany, France, US) and fiction/documentary Spy, Double Spy (mini-series, co-pro Germany & Belgium). The Slate will directly benefit over 50 creators: writers, directors, animators, researchers, illustrators and creative producers from Holland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, South Africa, France, UK, Poland & Hungary plus hundreds of creatives when going into production.
