Subsurface Septic System Rehabilitation

The project will repair and upgrade sub-surface sewage treatment systems in the Shoal Lake 40 First Nation in Ontario. The work will involve: replacing an entire subsurface treatment system (tank, pump, controls, leeching bed and collection pipe); replacing pump control boxes and floats, seven (7) damaged tank covers and 15 submersible pumps; installing or replacing leeching beds in five (5) systems; and clearing brush over 13 leeching beds to access the work sites. This project will repair or upgrade 23 sub-surface sewage treatment systems to improve service reliability, extend the life of assets, and meet federal and provincial requirements.
