Description | Webuild has delivered two 103-metre long tunnel boring machines (TBMs) to Burwood for the Melbourne Suburban Rail Loop East project. These machines will excavate nearly 10 kilometres of rock for two parallel tunnels between the future Glen Waverley and Box Hill stations, including 39 cross passages, two station boxes, and one intervention and ventilation shaft. The first pair of TBMs will tunnel from Burwood towards Glen Waverley station box, with two more units to follow towards Box Hill station box. The project is managed by the Terra Verde Joint Venture appointed by the Suburban Rail Loop Authority. |
