The SESNP will target the most food insecure households in the most affected localities and states. The project will target households with the highest prevalence of food insecurity. Priority will be provided to: (i) severely food insecure households; (ii) female headed households; (iii) child headed households; (iv) households with elderly; and (v) households with disabled members. About 2 million beneficiaries will be reached. The project would provide transfers (cash or food) to smoothen the consumption of targeted households. The design and implementation modalities will consider the challenging institutional and social context inherent in delivering such type of transfer project in a Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) context where identification, targeting, and delivery mechanisms will need to be adapted to meet the unique challenges of different states in Sudan. Under the current political situation, The project will be implemented under third-party implementation arrangements by the World Food Programme.
