Description | The project involved the installation of a new nine-mile underground transmission line between Eversource’s Sudbury substation and the Hudson Light and Power substation. It aims to connect customers with reliable, affordable power and enable new energy resources. The project is the final part of the Greater Boston and New Hampshire Solution, a regional portfolio of transmission investments to improve the area's electric system reliability, resiliency, and flexibility. Additionally, 7.5 miles of the transmission line were installed within an inactive MBTA railroad corridor, creating the foundation for a new section of the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail (MCRT). |
