Description

Description

In July 2012, a Sino-foreign joint venture company Suizhou Lianheyulong Water Affairs Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with the Suizhou Municipal Government to build and operate the Suizhou City Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase II in Suizhou City, Hubei Province. United Water had a majority interest in the JV but its exact share was however unknown. The total investment was RMB 54.85 million (US$ 8.69 million) and the total capacity of the plant was 50,000 cubic meters per day. Construction commenced in April 2012, before the agreement was signed. Test run was conducted in Dec 2012. Concession term of the agreement was not reported. It seemed that the agreement was granted in a direct negotiation way, mainly because Suizhou Lianheyulong was the concessionaire in Phase I of the same plant (project 4505). At least 25% of construction had been achieved by Jul 2012.
