Summerside Sewer System Replacements

The project consists of replacing sewer service pipe and manholes in the City of Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The city’s old and deteriorating sewer infrastructure is causing gaps in sewer service and sewage backups among city residents’ homes and businesses. The scope of the work includes installing new sewer mains (collecting pipe for the sewer service) complete with all services (service laterals from the mainlines into each building/dwelling also known as service pipes) and manholes. The project will replace 2,000 meters of 8-, 6-, and 4-inch diameter sewer mains, as well as 15 manholes. The project will benefit community by increasing capacity to treat and/or manage wastewater and/or stormwater and avoiding costly sewage backups among city residents’ homes and businesses.
