Description
Description | The Project consists of the construction of a 21 megawatt (MW) solar farm that includes 2400 strings of 28 arrays of solar, (67,200 photovoltaic modules), along with a 10MW/20MW battery storage facility, in its recently built wellfield of 80 acres. The site layout accommodates solar modules, inverters as well as the energy storage system. The Project aims to use a "greener" form of energy to improve the energy efficiency of the City and reduce electricity costs for its residents. The benefits of this project include the integration into the electrical grid of 30,000 MWh of solar energy, which equates to the removal of 21,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, and a greener community using almost 62% renewable energy for electricity needs. The project will improve power quality, energy flow, and reliability of all sources of generation, and reduce peak demand thereby flowing efficiencies and savings while maximizing capital assets. The project will facilitate the integration of renewable technologies like solar panels and electric vehicles, and help to keep voltage levels constant for commercial and industrial customers. |
