Summerside Water Replacements

This project consists of replacing aging, leaking and deteriorating water mains, valves, hydrants and services throughout the city. The scope of the project is to install new water main complete with all the services, hydrants valves and fittings while customers are still on the old lines. Once the new lines are installed and passed quality testing the customers will be connected to the new line with minimal disturbance. It includes 3 kilometers of 10, 8, 6 and 4-inch diameter water main. Part of that would be 1.5kilometers of ¾ inch water service pipe, approximately 15 fire hydrants and 15 main line valves plus other fittings required to meet all regulations. The aim is to have the old deteriorated and break prone water infrastructure replaced to avoid costly and long shutdowns to the end users being the businesses and residents of the city. By replacing these old and underperforming lines water quality in the city will improve and the amount of water the city takes from groundwater table will lessen as a result.
