Summit Carbon Solutions Carbon Capture Pipeline Reroute

Summit Carbon Solutions plans to build a multi-billion-dollar pipeline to capture and bury carbon dioxide from ethanol plants. The project will now travel west through Nebraska to Wyoming for underground sequestration, excluding South Dakota from the route. The pipeline was originally planned to collect carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota, transporting it for sequestration in North Dakota. The reroute reduces the miles of land and number of landowners affected in Iowa. The project aims to capitalize on federal tax credits and may include enhanced oil recovery where appropriate.
