Summit Carbon Solutions is proposing to modify the route of its $9 billion carbon capture pipeline by removing eight Iowa counties and shortening the route by 200 miles. The pipeline's destination is changed from North Dakota to Wyoming, passing through Nebraska instead of South Dakota. The project aims to capture carbon dioxide from ethanol plants, liquefy it, and sequester it underground, qualifying for federal tax credits and supporting ethanol producers and farmers.
