Description | The project SUMUD YOU will bring together organizations, explicitly working with young people (youth organizations), from South European and South Mediterranean countries. These organizations involved are 4 youth organizations from the North Mediterranean area (Italy, Spain, France and Belgium) and 4 youth organizations from the South Mediterranean area (Palestine, Jordan and Tunisia) as such fostering cooperation between program countries and eligible third countries. The main aim of this project is to support youth organizations and local youth activist groups in the Euro-Mediterranean area to actively engage in land and water resilience by developing their organizational capacity and upscaling their environmental competencies through learning by doing and exchange of good practices. The overall objectives are: -Foster interregional cooperation between the organizations involved while working together through the organization of coordination meetings and activities; -Increase the organizational, communicative and project management skills of the involved youth organizations, through training the members of the organizations in youth leadership, project management, visual storytelling, activism and non-violence; -Promote non-formal learning especially in the field of water and land resilience through the organization of training courses and online sessions to strengthen the environmental capacities of organizations; -Support the development of youth work as a way of activism on local and international levels, with strengthening the local base of volunteers and activists and creating a strong international community of climate activists; -Promote and legitimize the role of youth organizations and youth workers; -Change behavior towards nature, such as the respectful use of the land and the safeguarding of the water, through the organization of regional study visits and local workshops. |
