Description | Sun Pond is a solar-plus-storage project combining 111MW of solar PV generation with an 85MW/340MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Maricopa County, Arizona. It has long-term power purchase agreements with California community choice aggregators Ava Community Energy and San José Clean Energy. The project uses Fluence's Gridstack BESS solution, PV modules from First Solar, smart trackers from Nextpower, and solar inverters from Sungrow. Construction was managed by McCarthy Building Companies as the EPC contractor, with battery cells supplied by Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC). |
