Sunderland Memorial Arena & Community Centre Renovation and Expansion Project

The project will renovate and expand the Sunderland Memorial Arena & Community Centre in Sunderland, Ontario. The work will involve the expansion of the building to include six new dressing rooms, a community use room, and a storage and ice resurfacer room. It will involve the expansion of the ice surface to meet the regulation size, the replacement of concrete pad, update to the refrigeration system, and reconfiguration of the seating around the ice rink. Renovations will also be made to the existing lobby, dressing rooms and second floor auditorium. The project will enable the Sunderland Memorial Arena & Community Centre to be brought up to a contemporary standard for use by residents of all ages, abilities and genders. By making the building fully accessible, the project will accommodate existing and new community activities including hockey, figure skating, ringette, sledge hockey and lacrosse as well as other recreation programs.
