It has a 25-year power purchase agreement to deliver 924 megawatts to New York and is set to power nearly 600,000 homes. The project was approved in 2024 and was on track for completion in the second half of 2027. Construction has been paused due to national security concerns identified by the Pentagon, with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management ordering a suspension of all ongoing activities on the outer continental shelf for 90 days, which can be extended. |
