The proposed IFC investment is a US$10 million equity investment in Sunshine Healthcare (the “Company” or “SHL”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunshine Holdings PLC (the “Group”). The use of proceeds will be expansion of pharma manufacturing (organic expansions or through acquisitions), distribution and retail footprint as well as refinancing of existing working capital debt (the “Project”).Founded in 1967, the Group is a listed Sri Lankan conglomerate. Its businesses cover: i) healthcare made up of pharmaceutical products & equipment's distribution and retail; ii) consumer made up of branded tea and confectionary; and iii) agribusiness made up of plantations and dairy production. SHL is the second largest importer in the pharma and medical devices segment of Sri Lanka. SHL has access to over 75 principals and remains a preferred partner for global and regional principal. SHL has 6 regional distribution centers and has access to over 3,000 pharmacies.
