SuperISSSTE Government Grocery Chain

under operation and revitalization

SuperISSSTE is a government-owned grocery store chain in Mexico, originally created to provide affordable staples for federal workers and later expanded to serve the broader public. The stores buy at wholesale prices, partner with local producers, centralize warehousing, and manage distribution to offer affordable groceries, prioritizing affordability over profit. The chain has faced challenges such as corruption and mismanagement but has been revitalized under President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration with new locations, a distribution center, and increased domestic supplier integration.
