Support for Energy Efficiency Country Program (EECP)

The objective of this non-reimbursable technical cooperation is to support the Chilean Government to develop an appropriate strategic framework for the Energy Efficiency Country Program (EECP). The technical cooperation will also support the development of the strategical framework to address regulatory barriers to promote energy efficiency in key sectors such as industry, mining and services, transport, and housing. The TC will help establishing energy savings' baselines and related indicators-from the new dynamic created, as more energy efficient plant and equipment is adopted. Specifically, the TC will support the following activities: (i) define the logical and strategical framework and perform the economic assessment of the Program's activities; (ii) define the scope of the energy efficiency legal framework and the regulatory framework for the EECP and stablish the minimum standard required for home and industrial appliances; and (iii) introduce Clean Development Mechanisms and carbon finance activities.
