Description

Description

The aim of the module is to improve access to formal education for Lebanese and non-Lebanese children. The funds provided will be used to finance school fees and reimburse school-related internet costs in the 2020/2021 school year. In addition, targeted training measures for school teachers and specialists will contribute to an inclusive, child-friendly learning environment in schools. The target group includes at least 115,000 Lebanese and non-Lebanese children of school age. School teachers and specialists at public schools will also benefit from the measures. Key activities include the financing of school fees for Lebanese and non-Lebanese children and the reimbursement of internet costs to improve access to distance learning opportunities in the 2020/2021 school year. In addition, measures in the area of improved quality of educational services (including targeted training and further education measures for teachers in the area of distance learning models, use of psychological and health specialists in schools) as well as school rehabilitation measures in public schools are financed. The remaining funds in the project (savings) are also used to finance further measures (school fees in the 22/23 academic year within the TREF structure, furnishing of 41 schools, psychosocial health measures). The project continues German support for the Reaching All Children with Education Program (RACE) in Lebanon, which Germany has been supporting through KfW since 2014.
