Description
Description | The aim of the module is to improve access to formal education for Lebanese and non-Lebanese children. The funds provided are to be used to finance school fees in the 2019/2020 school year. In addition, targeted training measures for school teachers and specialists are to contribute to an inclusive, child-friendly learning environment in schools and thus to the reduction of non-financial barriers to access. The target group reached by the German contribution in the area of school fee financing in the 2019/20 school year includes Lebanese and non-Lebanese children of school age. In addition, teachers benefit from targeted training measures through the German contribution in the area of improved quality of educational services (RACE Pillar II). The financial contribution is also used to finance the deployment of school specialists, for example in the areas of health and social care for students. In addition, school rehabilitation measures are carried out at 15 public schools. Since the measure resulted in exchange rate savings, IT connection measures for schools, a learning recovery program and the procurement of hygiene materials are also being financed. UNICEF is tasked with implementation and in this case is both the recipient and the project sponsor of the measure. UNICEF is working closely with the Lebanese Ministry of Education on the project. |
