Support for volunteer Syrian teachers

The aim of the Financial Cooperation project is to enable improved access to school education for Syrian refugee children in Turkey. The project is being implemented by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as part of the overarching initiative Preventing a lost generation in Turkey and is supported with EUR 35 million. Using project funds from Phase VI, around 4,100 Syrian aid workers will be hired for the 2021/22 school year and deployed in various educational and social institutions at several locations in Turkey. They will support the institutions with administrative and technical tasks. As a result, around 140,000 schoolchildren will benefit from the project. The project is part of the Middle East employment initiative as part of the special initiative Combating the causes of flight, reintegrating refugees.
