Support the development of an IDB CLIMA pilot project in Belize

This TC aims to support Belize in designing its first project (BL-L1051) under the IDB CLIMA Pilot Program and implementing the IDB CLIMA Roadmap. The IDB CLIMA Pilot Program incentivizes sector-driven investments to accelerate sovereign borrowers' access to climate finance, aiming to achieve the scale needed to meet national climate and biodiversity targets. The program rewards borrowers who achieve results through sectoral investments measured by key performance indicators (KPI) that: (i) reduce development gaps while generating biodiversity and climate impacts; (ii) strengthen sector capacities to develop project portfolios that include climate and/or biodiversity considerations; and (iii) enhance sector-driven MRV systems for biodiversity and climate to meet international standards for climate, biodiversity, and thematic green debt.
