Description

The aim of the individual project is to increase the target group's resilience to extreme weather risks by contributing a) to improved equipment with municipal buildings and infrastructure b) to better nutrition for population groups affected by current droughts c) to prevent long-term damage caused by malnutrition and undernutrition in children under 2 years of age d) to market development (local food production and trade) and e) to improved access to digital financial services and the expansion of digital payment systems. The recipient and project sponsor of the measure is the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The project is embedded in the national social security system in Ethiopia and consists of two components 1) municipal work and food security in the Somali region and 2) pilot projects to develop the market for fresh food, digital financial services and food security in the Amhara region. The FC funding contribution is EUR 15 million for an implementation period of 12 months.
