Description
Description | Due to the ongoing civil war, Libya was already facing significant humanitarian challenges in basic care and child protection before the COVID-19 pandemic. The armed conflict was and is accompanied by massive internal displacement, flanked by significant human rights violations such as sexual violence and forced recruitment by armed groups. The COVID-19 pandemic in Libya is leading to significant additional challenges for the health system. The project continues to support Libya's national vaccination campaign. It initially strengthens the health system to provide vaccination services and promotes the expansion of capacities for basic health services in support of the Ministry of Health. In addition, capacities in the country for the coordination and implementation of vaccination campaigns, including quality assurance measures, are being strengthened. Furthermore, the acceptance of vaccines and the creation of demand are being increased through risk communication and community mobilization. |
